The Aion Network is a multi-tier blockchain system designed to address scalability, privacy, and interoperability.
On the 25th April, AION is launching its mainnet – Kilimanjaro.
With the release, AION will have an improved virtual machine. The AION FastVM is 59% faster than the Ethereum Virtual Machine on which it is originally based. The data word size is also being reduced from 256 bit to 128 bit.
AION will also have an improved equihash consenus algorithm and lay the foundation modules to run the AION blockchain with AION Core. This will be followed by the Token Bridge, which will allow interchain token exchange, laying the foundation for blockchain interoperability.
AION will optimize its performance and reduce energy cost. When compared with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, less Gas will be needed for transactions and decentralized applications using AION FastVM will run faster.
At the time of writing this post, a day before the mainnet launch, AION was valued at 4396 Satoshi ($4.07), with a volume of 1,312 BTC on Binance.
